Bet you all haven't seen a title like that in a while!! I think it's fitting because my last post was in November 2011, so technically, I haven't posted in the new year yet. That ends NOW!
Where to begin.....
Well, lets start where we left off, shall we? November. Turkey Day. There isn't much to say about that! We ate. and visited. and ate some more! It was great.I was officially hired at Home Instead Senior Care!! YAY! Finally. I felt like I was interviewing forever. Literally. I think it was like a 3 month process before I got hired. But yea....I'm happy!
Then December. Michael came down for Christmas and New Years Eve, which was beyond nice. We had a great Christmas. It was the first Christmas that we were "home" for the Holidays. It's also the first one where we had to split our time together between my dad and his girlfriend, Lori and my mom and her boyfriend, Rocky. It was a great time on both sides, but I did miss the "good old days" when it was my mom, dad me, Bryan, Tim and Chris. But, I understand that sh*t happens and I'm not one to dwell on things that are out of my control, so I digress.
December 30th, I turned 29! EKKKKK! My last year of being "in my 20's" I remember when I was 15, I always said that by the time a person turns 30, they have to have all their stuff together. Career. Husband. Kids.Home.....I do have 2 of those 4 things. The career one is a work in progress and Michael and I have put off our dreams of home ownership until we both are in good steady careers and have made sure we have made the transition from the Army to civilian life, seamlessly. My mom watched the kiddies for us, and we went over to our friend Freddy & Holley's house. We watched.......BREAKING DAWN, Part 1!!!! AH-MAZ-ING!!! They surprised me with a cake {which was yummo!} It was a great time!
New Years Eve we met up with Freddy and Holley again for dinner and snacks and headed to the beach for Fireworks. Of course I have no pictures!{at the time, I had no charger!!! I do NOW though....but you will have to wait till later to see some new pics. ha.ha. Deal with it!!}
New Years Day, the hub left to go back to good ole Georgia. Boo. Hiss. Rawr. Tear.
I have done a lot of training for work in the new year. I also got my Home Health Aide {HHA} state certification and re-certified in CPR and AED. Im pretty stoked about that. I got this Monday {30th} for an introduction for...MY FIRST CLIENT!!! I'm wayyy excited yet nervous as well. The Tuesday is my first official work day. Every Tuesday, wednesday and Thursday from 7a-3p! My mama is going to be staying here with me so she can watch the kids for a while.I'm going to have to figure something else out though because she's going on vacation the end of March. I'm pretty much a stress case all. the . time. lately. Oh well. I do need to learn relaxing techniques.
Michael still hasn't heard any news on when he will be getting out. He submitted paperwork to his Nurse case manager back in December, and came back from leave only to find that it was still sitting on her desk...not up at the VA where, ya know, they get sh*t moving.....Yeah, so that's a HUGE bummer. I was hoping he would be down here by March. April at the latest, but I'm not so sure. We may be moving up to GA July 1st and he might not even be out yet. Boo. Oh well, like I said, I dont dwell on things that are out of my control. That's about all thats new on this front. I know your dying for pictures, so I will leave you with a few recent ones! {December 2011 and January 2012} Hope you like.
Fun at the park with Uncle Chris!
