My first week as a workin girl!

So, I have been a stay at home mom for 9 years up until last week. I got my first client with Home Instead Senior Care. {Even though I am not a nurse, I am still bound by HIPPA, so my client will remain unknown to you all!} I can tell you that she is a spitfire! We get along great and I look forward to working with her longer!

I will say that I am exhausted! I get up at 6 a.m. for work at 7 and then am done at 3 p.m. Then I come home and visit with the kiddies and hear about school. I miss picking them up and being the first to hear how their day was, but that's a privileged my mom gets now! I was always busy busy when I was working at home, but it was on my own schedule. Now, I have to do things to help my clients when she wants them done, but we are falling into a nice routine.

I know it will take a few weeks for my body to get use to the new schedule. It is nice to be able to get a break from the kids though! hahahaa. That sounds terrible! I LOVE my babies, but I definitely have put my dreams and aspirations on the back burner so I could be the best mom I could be to them. I am now realizing that giving up my hopes and dreams is not setting a good example for them. I should never have given up on fulfilling my wants. For them and for me!

In other news, my husbands Aunt, Deborah, is going through one heck of a fight with cancer and now her insurance will not pay for holistic treatments that she wants. {She recently lost her husband from cancer and she feels that chemo did more damage to him...}

Any donation, if you feel so inclined, would be a benefit! Check out her story and stats HERE
Anyways, I hope you all have a relaxing weekend! Till next time----

Happy New Year! Bwhahaha

Bet you all haven't seen a title like that in a while!! I think it's fitting because my last post was in November 2011, so technically, I haven't  posted in the new year yet. That ends NOW!

Where to begin.....

Well, lets start where we left off, shall we? November. Turkey Day. There isn't much to say about that! We ate. and visited. and ate some more! It was great.I was officially hired at Home Instead Senior Care!! YAY! Finally. I felt like I was interviewing forever. Literally. I think it was like a 3 month process before I got hired. But yea....I'm happy!

Then December. Michael came down for Christmas and New Years Eve, which was beyond nice. We had a great Christmas. It was the first Christmas that we were "home" for the Holidays. It's also the first one where we had to split our time together between my dad and his girlfriend, Lori and my mom and her boyfriend, Rocky. It was a great time on both sides, but I did miss the "good old days" when it was my mom, dad me, Bryan, Tim and Chris. But, I understand that sh*t happens and I'm not one to dwell on things that are out of my control, so I digress.

December 30th, I turned 29!  EKKKKK! My last year of being "in my 20's" I remember when I was 15, I always said that by the time a person turns 30, they have to have all their stuff together. Career. Husband. Kids.Home.....I do have 2 of those 4 things. The career one is a work in progress and Michael and I have put off our dreams of home ownership until we both are in good steady careers and have made sure we have made the transition from the Army to civilian life, seamlessly. My mom watched the kiddies for us, and we went over to our friend Freddy & Holley's house. We watched.......BREAKING DAWN, Part 1!!!! AH-MAZ-ING!!! They surprised me with a cake {which was yummo!}  It was a great time!

New Years Eve  we met up with Freddy and Holley again for dinner and snacks and headed to the beach for Fireworks. Of course I have no pictures!{at the time, I had no charger!!! I do NOW though....but you will have to wait till later to see some new pics. ha.ha. Deal with it!!}

New Years Day, the hub left to go back to good ole Georgia. Boo. Hiss. Rawr. Tear.

I have done a lot of training for work in the new year. I also got my Home Health Aide {HHA} state certification and re-certified in CPR and AED. Im pretty stoked about that. I got this Monday {30th} for an introduction for...MY FIRST CLIENT!!! I'm wayyy excited yet nervous as well.  The Tuesday is my first official work day. Every Tuesday, wednesday and Thursday from 7a-3p! My mama is going to be staying here with me so she can watch the kids for a while.I'm going to have to figure something else out though because she's going on vacation the end of March. I'm pretty much a stress case all. the . time. lately. Oh well. I do need to learn relaxing techniques.

Michael still hasn't heard any news on when he will be getting out. He submitted paperwork to his Nurse case manager back in December, and came back from leave only to find that it was still sitting on her desk...not up at the VA where, ya know, they get sh*t moving.....Yeah, so that's a HUGE bummer. I was hoping he would be down here by March. April at the latest, but I'm not so sure. We may be moving up to GA July 1st and he might not even be out yet. Boo. Oh well, like I said, I dont dwell on things that are out of my control. That's about all thats new on this front. I know your dying for pictures, so I will leave you with a few recent ones! {December  2011 and January 2012} Hope you like.

 Fun at the park with Uncle Chris!

I am not a Blogger anymore---

And its KILLING me!! I cannot believe its been a little more then 2 months since I last posted! Sigh. Thats what happens when your laptops battery kicks the can and it costs $100 to replace it. :(  Broke battery + no job= no blogging. I do have good news. I had a job interview at Home Instead Senior Care. They are waiting for my background check to come in, but I feel like the job is mine once it comes in!! The interview went well and they already called my references (SIX!!) I called this past Monday and they still have no gotten it in. :( Ahhh, hurry up and wait. Its my lifes motto! LOL.

Good news, Ive finally gotten a test date for my CNA!!! Nov. 5th is the big day. Ive been studying my booty off! Im nervous and so excited at the same time!

Mikey got ALL A's and B's on his first report card! YIPEE! Im sooo proud of him!! Zachary did good too, but we have been having issues with talking and not listening at school......yeah.

Michael came down to visit the end of august until mid sept. it was like normal. we were a family. Since then, he has committed again to our marriage. When he gets out of the Army on medical retirement { Feb-June 2012} he will be coming down here and we will be back in action. I know a lot of people think im crazy or making the wrong decision but we have been through so much together. we love each other. We just need to learn to handle things differently and more maturely.

I am just about all signed up for school in January. Im just waiting on my HS transcripts making their way to the college. Sooooo once they get there, 4 weeks from that day, my financial aid should be awarded. Nov 11 is the start of registration. Im excited. I have to take a prep math class {bc I suck at Algebra} but I am on college level for my english and reading! Not bad for being out of school for almost 11 years! ;)

Looking forward to Trick or Treating on Monday nite. Haileys going to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Zachy is going to be The white power ranger { a tiger i think??} and Mikey is BumbleBee from Transformers! Should be fun!

Anyways, that was a super quick update. Sorry. KNow that I miss all you in blogland and i hope I still have some followers. LOL Bear with me......I will have a computer again in a few months! {Im on my brothers rite now!}
